The Challenge

While Copper Still had a vibrant history and a unique atmosphere, it lacked a sharpened, cohesive digital presence to communicate that story to a broader audience. This created a delicate friction: the brand needed to introduce innovative new experiences and “upscale” events to grow, yet it had to do so without alienating its core, loyal patrons.

Beyond just aesthetics, the lounge faced the operational hurdle of translating its high-energy, “after-dark” atmosphere into a measurable “brand funnel”. They required a strategy that could effectively showcase their globally-recognized musicians and artist lineups to an expanded demographic while maintaining the “velvet rope” allure of a classic speakeasy. Essentially, the challenge was to move from being a local favorite to a high-visibility destination with sustainable operations and a refined identity that resonated across multiple digital platforms.

Brand Immersion

The team embedded themselves in the lounge to capture its specific “energy” and guest interactions. By studying the relationship between owners, patrons, and world-class musicians, they built a strategy that honored the club’s history while modernizing its appeal.

Identity Refining

HCMA “sharpened” external messaging to reflect an upscale, “golden age of glam” aesthetic. They revamped visual design elements to attract a diverse audience, positioning the brand as a sophisticated yet rebellious “after-dark” destination.

Content Strategy

The agency used “strategic storytelling” to build online authority and engagement. This included conducting eight interviews with artists and customers, creating high-quality visual storyboards that translated the live experience into digital buzz.

Partnerships

To drive revenue, the team launched “win-win” loyalty events, such as premium champagne tastings paired with live music. These collaborations introduced new experiences to attract fresh visitors while maintaining the interest of core, long-time patrons.
